Womanifesto repositions and contributes to the conceptual canon that wishes to manifest a safe space for: divergence, contradiction, the godly and the unholy, the peaceful, silly, romantic, the martriarch and un-surviving.

The online exhibition is a reclamation of femme’hood through collective encounters of self through time.As these layers are revealed we are introduced to a reality of hybrid experiences and relationships that surpass the historical placement and sum of our individual or collective traumas.
Through the lens of our exhibiting artists, we bring to the forefront a multitude of the rich inter/intra generational connections and stories that lend to the documentation of the African feminine horology.

Poised to not merely reject the one-dimensional narratives around femme’hood, but also add to a visual archive that engages with the pivotal role of sharing intersectional artistic experiences of femme creators from the continent and diaspora.
