NELSON MAKAMO SOLO EXHIBITION: BOTHO, MOTHO, BATHO
This week we dive into the brilliantly and well-curated Botho Project Space. This creative space is a pan African, artist-run space which is uniquely positioned to give artists a sense of freedom and individualisation for them to harness greater opportunities.
Botho Project space is hosting the work of the international artist Nelson Makamos new solo exhibition, Botho, Motho, Batho.
This exhibition has already been up and running from the 14th of November 2020 and will be running until 14th of January 2021.
Nelson Makamo is a South African born artist, born in Modimolle in Limpopo.
His well known artistic trait and technique are oil paintings and charcoal drawings, in some of his most recent work you notice how he uses the innocence of a child to communicate a greater message through his art pieces about what seems to be, embracing your inner child and showing your vulnerability through the young black child.
Nelson Makamo has had his work featured in numerous international collections such as the likes of fashion moguls such as Georgio Armani, musician Annie Lennox , and Hanzehof Zutphense KunstCollectis.
This artist has been able to solidify their space in the industry through his first solo exhibition in 2005 which was titled “Walk with me”, which opened many more doors for him to do more international solo exhibitions in places such as England, France, Italy, Amsterdam and Netherlands.
